About MVA Holdings Ltd

McGarrie Vahey & Partners was established as an insurance brokerage in 1978.  The business started in Alderley Edge moving to Water Lane in Wilmslow in 1982.  In 2004 the business purchased the property it currently occupies on Alderley Road in Wilmslow. Throughout the years of trading McGarrie Vahey has been independent, directly authorized business with no ties to any other organization.

In 2006 the business, which had been trading as a partnership, changed its status to that of a limited company and McGarrie Vahey & Partners was retained as the trading name of the new limited company, MVA Holdings Limited. MVA Holdings Limited is directly authorised by the Financial Services Authority.

The Company provides independent impartial advice on a range of subjects including Investments, Pensions, Life Assurance and Inheritance Tax Mitigation. The work carried out and recommendations reached are through a bespoke report based system tailored to the needs of the individual client.  The client can choose between a fee based or commission remunerated arrangement.

The Directors of MVA Holdings Limited have extensive experience within the industry and are FSA qualified registered individuals:

Alasdair Hymers MA (Hons)
Started as a graduate trainee with an Edinburgh Life assurance company in 1977 and after working in Manchester and London joined McGarrie Vahey & Partners in 1988.  A working background primarily with pensions on a group and individual basis.

Simon Carling LL.B (Hons)
Practiced law before entering the life assurance industry in 1985 and subsequently joining McGarrie Vahey in 1997.  Simon’s legal background is particularly suited to the trust work undertaken with severely disabled Personal Injury clients.

John Roberts Cert PFS
Has been in the life assurance industry since 1979 both as an insurance company representative and as an independent financial adviser.  Joined McGarrie Vahey & Partners in 2003 and with a particular expertise with on-shore and off-shore investments and pensions.
